I’m proud of you. You did the best thing for yourself, and it made you a better person. I’m all for Roe v Wade, but having this baby made you personally better. It gave you a chance to see the world beyond your personal horizon, you understand a little better now how love and life works. Those are two very important things in this world, you can’t ignore them if you want to be happy. Enjoy the love you have for Paulie Bleeker, and enjoy the life you create together. It must’ve been tough to give up your baby after giving birth, but you said you weren’t ready to be a mother. I’m proud of you for being so strong during those wacky nine months. I’m glad abortion was an option you tried, even though you didn’t go through with it. If you had gone through with it, you wouldn’t be the person you are now.
My own stance on Roe v Wade is simple: pro-choice. Defunding PP would totally wreck lives. It is entirely possible for the person giving birth to die during labour, and many people have, even with today’s modern medicine. “It is wrong to take innocent life,” isn’t a valid argument in this situation. It’s possible for the impregnated to have been innocent and violated, is it wrong to let them die because she was forced to give birth to a child they might not have even wanted? Is it still murder? We have murders everywhere, why is this what the public focuses when it comes to killing? It’s wrong to force someone into a situation that could kill them, to be in a situation they never wanted to be apart of. Abstinence does not always work–rape is still here, still happens, why not punish the violators? Why protect the cell that has no conscious thought over a scared, violated person? “It’s inhuman to kill a baby!” Well, it’s inhuman to force someone into bearing a child that may kill them.
